Anyone with naked experience at False Cape State Park in SE Virginia? Looks like a wonderful secluded spot!

I have walked nude for miles and hours and seen others, though not many, do the same, virtualy undisturbed at False Cape State Park / Back Bay NWR. Its a beautifully desolate 9 mile stretch of virgin barrier island just south of the Sandbridge area of Virginia beach. Gotta keep your textiles close at hand though. Some are still allowed commuting rights from Corova, NC to VaBeach by driving on the beach. This is slowly dimishing though. I only recall seeing one ranger checking turtle nests during all my visits there. Most visitors stay inland on the trails within a mile or two of the parking lot on the north end, or kayak behind the island. On the beach, you can see anyone else for a long long way. You are not allowed to set up sunbathing swimming, surfing, etc. until you are out of the NWR. Bring lots of water, high protien snacks and some good walking shoes. There are no services once you leave the visitors center. Riding a bicycle is allowed. It's easy to imagine you are a thousand miles from anywhere.

I agree with Frank's comments. False Cape State Park in Virginia is a haven of quiet space south of Sandbridge Beach. You will likely see deer, maybe feral pigs, and wild ponies. The wild pigs will run from you.
You must hike or bike through the federal lands of Back Bay NWR to get to False Cape State Park.
There is a State Ranger's residence on the grounds of False Cape so it is possible you may be seen by a ranger or by a few other hikers. Not aware of what will happen if you are seen while nude. Wish it were nude sanctioned because it would be a perfect place for a sanctioned clothing-optional beach.
Be aware that the actual City of Virginia Beach further north is very much clothing compulsive. It is illegal to wear a thong on the beach. The police will ticket anyone wearing a thong.
False Cape is not in the City proper but is several miles south.

Well, it finally happened. It was completely my own fault. I was walking the beach At FCSP. I misjudged where the next access road to the beach from behind the dunes was when all of a sudden, an SUV rambled onto the beach not 150 yards ahead of me. He started to turn away from me and head the other direction, but then turned and came over to me. I had already thrown my shorts back on as soon as I had seen him, but it was to late. He was a park ranger about age 60 or so. Thankfully, he didnt ticket me, but made it clear that he would bust me if he saw me out there nude again. He was very angry, so I felt he was doing more than enforcing the law. He was putting his own personal fear and belief behind his words. I just listened and passified him with "yes sirs" and OK sirs". Anyway, I know now EXACTLY where that access road is and will be more careful in the future. This will not keep me from enjoying nature the way I like to enjoy it. Peace.

Man, I know that feeling. My wife and I were nude on the Cape Cod Seashore long ago, there was NO ONE for miles. All of a sudden a huge, polluting, SUV comes out of nowhere and some guy who was being paid with our tax dollars tells us that he saw us WITH HIS BINOCULARS and we were in violation of the law. Made us feel like pervs. All this in MA, probably the most liberal state in the US, next to VT.

Thanks for the commiseration Nudesunguy! So, did you stay as you were after he left or pack it in? What was your wife feeling? Did he stand ovrer you and watch you dress or just leave you alone?
I had a 5 mile hike to do to get back to my motorcycle and head home. I kept my shorts on for about a mile till I got out of the State Park (State land, his jurisdiction) and back into Back Bay NWR (federal land). I had a free walk back thereafter, but it still put a pall on an otherwise glorious day. I left a small part of my story out too. Earlier that same day, I had been in the federal NWR meditating on the beach when I was startled by a truck horn and a Dept. of Fisheries ranger driving by at 10 MPH and simply yelled "clothes on!" out his window, and drove on. I got his message, but was mostly startled by being brought out of my revery by his horn. I think he realized what a futile thing he was doing by enforcing the law when there could be no "victims" for miles.
