Man, I NEED a new fence!!! Couple weeks ago while cleaning the deck before I refinished it, I had mixed up some deck cleaner and had some left over. So I go walking outside along the fence line to dump what was left and hear the neighbor lady right on the other side of the fence - "Good morning". Well...I guess she knows I'm a nudist now! I just said good morning back and continued on with my day. The fence is in such bad shape that I'm sure she got a good look! oh well....

Hey when I lived in Melbourne many years ago I was pruning a large tree in my yard and found my neighbour our enjoying the sun sans any clothes. I don't think she knew I saw her, so I felt comfortable going nude in my own yard. I think most people get a surprise and feel like they are invading your privacy in a way.
On a slightly different tack, I work in the construction industry in a role of reviewing designs and documentation. I always thought it was amazing that so many residential neighbours used to object to a new development because they sun-baked naked and therefore tried to argue that no-one could build and look into their yard. My attitude was fair enough to a point but if you parade naked in the open, it's a chance someone will see you so get used to it.
Cheers, SBN.

When I eventually went nude on a clothing-optional beach in Spain, mentally I was prepared to see and be seen, even photographed ... this was part of the country where clothes truly were optional and on that beach, one saw elderly Spanish ladies clothed head to toe in black, mingling along the water's edge with people wearing only a hat, glasses and sandals (me). It wasn't long before I realised that it was no big deal to be seen naked, those ladies in black (no, not nuns) couldn't care less either, so it was all OK. I also realised that if I could walk naked down a beach, there was nothing else to fear in life, I could 'conquer the world'. Since then, nudity in mixed company is no big deal; last fall I had a stroke and was temporarily partially disabled/paralysed (fully recovered now). While I was at the rehab centre, I was twice given a shower and 98% of my body was washed by the (female) nursing assistants. It was a glorious experience! I thanked them for not making a big fuss over nudity - they were surprised that I did!
I think we often become over-concerned about what others may think of our nudity (and vice-versa). I don't know how to resolve that, except to 'be natural' (whatever that may mean) whenever appropriate, which should include in your own back yard.

Calgary Mark, some wise words indeed. The nurses would appreciate that, I know, but they would now be bothered by your nudity, they've seen everything many times before. They would probably have been impressed by your all over tan, that is something they would notice and probably admire from some I know. Totally agree about the back-yard it should be a sanctuary for all nudists / naturalists, whatever we now like to be called.
Cheers, SBN.

In this frigid climate, my all-over tan comes mostly from a special lamp that emits UVB light to generate Vitamin D. My wife needs it, she has reversed osteoporosis with it (and with a very knowledgeable and helpful endocrinologist and specialised medications). More at Solarc Systems web site.
I doubt the nurses even noticed the tan - in the artificial light of the bathroom, everything is discoloured; and in the circumstances, that was the least of all our concerns.

Good pick, my grammar check missed that one. My days in our back yard are numbered for this summer, the cold is starting. I have found I can get to the beach even in late April and May which is mid autumn (your fall), after that its all over till around October at the earliest but probably November. The back yard may give me some glimpses at other times.
Had a medical test last winter before going to Nepal and found I had a slight vitamin D deficiency so that's a good enough excuse I find to chase sun whenever. My wife too but not osteoporosis I don't think.
Tanning Salons are being banned here due to the skin cancer concerns (a number of people have died) so be careful, I'm sure you are following the insructions.
Cheers SBN.

I'm convinced that my wife's issues with skin cancer are attributed to the days she spent going to tanning salons. Since that first diagnosis, she's not ever been back to one and not had any other issues. She's still careful in the sun but I'm certain those salons were bad news and still are. Amazed at how many women still come out of those that are around here.
... and btw ... we're still naked here at home and slipped on just a little something to get us to our motorhome parked on the street in front of the house. I just returned from a camping trip and the Prof wanted to help me clean it up before taking it back to storage. Once in the motorhome, it was naked cleaning! So ... even in the motorhome, we are frequently naked as well!

Motor homes are good places to be naked. When driving across the USA in my motor home I usually drive naked. I sit up there above the crowd in driving comfort. I frequently have a pair of shorts back on a couch near the main door so I can slip on a cover before going out for gas or whatever. But if I'm not in a crowded place I don't bother with the shorts then either.

The motorhome and our vehicles are extensions of our home, in my opinion. All our vehicles, with the exception of the motorhome, have dark tinted windows. I'm in the process of having the motorhome windows tinted dark but won't be able to do the drivers window or the passengers window anywhere near that dark ... in fact I'm not sure I can darken them at all. Dark tinting the windows in the rest of the motorhome will allow us to open the blinds and remain naked without being seen during daylight hours. At night, we'll close the blinds. We can usually keep the blinds open during the day, depending on where we are parked adjacent to other RV's but tinting them will give my wife the added feeling of privacy.
But ... I drive our motorhome naked regardless and the only vehicles that can see me are the semi trucks. I don't pace them, nor do I allow them to pace me. I've found that truck drivers don't pay attention to what's going on inside the motorhomes that pass them unless those in the motorhome are trying to get their attention. Like we'd hope, these truck drivers are paying attention to the road!
In our cars, same thing. I don't pace vehicles that sit higher than we do. I've sat right next to higher profile vehicles at stop lights and have been completely naked and have never had anyone see me but even then ... if I suspect that there may be a chance, I always have the towel I'm sitting on that I just fold over my lap and that takes care of that!

Yes motor homes are a great way to get out and still be able to enjoy being nude. We are getting ready for our bi-annual trip to the Lower 48, but am sure that nude time will be something that I may not be able to enjoy for a while. Can only hope for some time. It is good to hear about others using their motor homes and enjoying their nude time. It is something that is hard to explain to other people.

The Prof and I just got home from a long, long day of wearing clothes! Family obligations this morning, lunch with family and then home for about 4 minutes and in the car and off to visit friends staying nearby in their RV. Before dinner drinks, dinner and after dinner drinks ... it's a good thing we live right across the street from the RV park!
My wife and I raced into the house and began stripping at the door from the garage to the laundry room. I think it was a tie but we were naked in about 5 seconds ... and she had on more clothes than I did! hahahahaha

I did ...though I think she actually won as I got distracted by watching her strip! LOL
We just returned home about 20 mins ago. Only having on shoes, a shirt and pants ... bamm ... I was naked in about 3 seconds. She was putting down her purse and turned around and said ... "damn!"

How about not dark-tinting the windows, but getting some of that reflective film so all people outside can see is the reflection of the sky? Should give you more light and privacy inside, if you want it.

Might look into that but for now ... the dark tint will remain til it needs to be redone.
Close textile friends just left and we are now able to return to normal! They arrived at 9:30 am and we've been dressed for over 10 hrs!!
But all is well in River City ... we are naked and life is good!
