It recently came to my attention that the Wikipedia article "Christian naturism" has a sub-section Clothing begets violence, which contains some shall-we-say interesting ideas.

What makes this even more interesting is that the wikipedia article Naturism doesn't even make any claim that "Clothing begets violence" (much less all that stuff about Hitler and Stalin). This raises some questions:

- Is "Clothing begets violence" a tenet of naturism, and if so why isn't it mentioned in the Naturism article?

- If "Clothing begets violence" isn't a tenet of naturism, then what makes it a tenet of "Christian naturism"? Or, better yet, who decided that it is a tenet of "Christian naturism"? Is this perhaps a case of wikipedia telling Christians naturists what to believe, rather than just reporting what Christian naturists do believe?

Any thoughts?

While Wikipedia contains many interesting facts you should be aware that it is a 'contribution based site'. Anyone can submit their own entry, or even edit an existing entry.

So, anything you read on there should be taken with a large pinch of salt until it can be verified by your own research.

We have some interesting viewpoints regarding Wikipedia's representation of nudism in a related topic.

Use me as a anecdotal example if you wish, but I feel very much at peace with the world when I am nude. The last thing I would want to do would be to commit a crime. While I still don't want to commit a crime with my clothes on, I don't feel that same sense of peace when not nude.

So, I am wondering if a person is at peace with him/herself, would that person be less likely to commit a crime, especially when nudity is the proximate cause of the tranquility.

Whenever a man has cast a longing eye on offices, a rottenness begins in his conduct.

My shorts are always telling me to kill someone. I wish they'd just stop it.

I don't mind my clothes talking to me, I just wish they were nicer, less irritable.
