Clothing optional resorts and clubs - Find them!

Where are the clothing optional resorts?

Please do not mention those that require nudity, this discussion is about those that DO NOT require nudity in all areas.

By the way, if you have an opinion to express on clothing optional recreation, please post it in the thread for that purpose. [here] The thread you are reading now is for listing those destinations.

The clothing optional concept allows for some adjustment period for those trying nude recreation for the first time.

It is also more flexible for weather conditions, or even the whim of a guest who may not feel like being nude at the moment.

There is usually a restriction at clothing optional resorts that nudity is still required in hot tubs and pools.

So, where are all the clothing optional resorts and other c/o destinations?

Club Orient, St. Martin -- Clothing is completely optional everywhere in the resort. If you want to be nude your entire stay, wonderful! If you want to be clothed your entire stay, wonderful! Everyone was friendly there, regardless of how much or how little you wore.

Kangaroo, You can't be nude in all parts of the resort. Wouldn't it be better to state it as a resort that has a nude section?

Cheri, which part can you not be nude at?

On the first paragraph of cluborient.com:
"Enjoy the serenity of our island and the freedom of our naturist resort where clothing is optional throughout the entire property."

Just to clarify, I was referring to Club Orient, not just the nude section of Orient Beach.

Actually, Club Orient has been entirely clothing optional for as long as I've been going to St. Martin (which is 18 years) -and from what I understand it has been so since its inception (many years longer than that). It's not any kind of recent update at that resort.

Cheri: Not true Club O really is clothing optional in all parts of the resort. I should have thought that you, of all people, would have known this.

I didn't find a category that specializes on indoor spas, so I guess this is the best forum for them - if not, Admin, please relocate this paragraph to it.

In late 2011 I checked out the Korean managed King's Spa in Niles, IL, a suburb adjacent to NW Chicago near the Home Depot. For $25- you can stay for up to 24 hours. If you need to leave, they may ask you to check out by paying in full and leaving the key. If you return within about 10 minutes, they won't make you repay. This spa is for men, women & kids, though the locker rooms are segregated by gender. A free tour was provided on request. You are given a key which opens 2 lockers - the 1st one is for your shoes, which you must remove upon entering so you don't track in dirt, and the 2nd one is for the rest of your clothes. The lockers and the rest of the interior are pretty new looking and kept very clean. Young Korean attendants assist with showing you where you can get clean towels, uniforms (t-shirt/shorts), or bedding/blankets. They told me I could not keep my gym bag in the spa area. Apparently everyone is expected to be nude in the spa section, where guys can bring in their sons just like at some YMCAs. I did witness one guy bathe in the whirlpool while wearing a towel. The whirlpool temp was comfortable, but the jets were on the weak side. There were 2 other hotter tubs, a cold plunge and a steam room. There were about 22 shaving sinks/mirrors that were close to the floor, so you needed to kneel or sit on the floor to shave. The individual showers were open in front and faced the whirlpool area. Massages/body scrubs are available at extra $$$ and conducted behind a privacy wall. If you wanted to spend the night here, they offered a TV lounge upstairs with comfortable reclining chairs. Someone comes around to shut off the TVs at approx. 2 AM. They also have thin floor mats in a sleeping room next to the locker room, where those who like to sleep nude could do so, whereas the room upstairs off of the TV lounge was co-ed and presumably textile. The guys are required to wear gray t-shirts/shorts to go upstairs in the co-ed section, while the women get pink outfits. Slippers are optional. In this section there are sofas, magazines and flat screen TVs that had football games and other shows on. They had several kinds of saunas. Some were designed for sociable purposes while others were more for meditating or for being quieter. One room was kept at 30 degrees, which you could experience outside just the same, at that time of year. I went into one of the sociable saunas and there were no seats, instead everyone sat on the floor up against the round walls. They have an adjacent restaurant with reasonable prices and the Korean food I ordered was unique and excellent. The clientelle were a mix of Asians, Russians and other Caucasians but I did see at least one African-American couple. The age range was widely variable. In summary, it was an interesting place, but it really could use stronger, more therapeutic jets and maybe a few more things to do, like having a nice weight room would have helped pass the time.

Just to clarify: It is true that nudity is allowed throughout the entire Club Orient resort. It is technically a clothing optional resort but in the 9 years we've visited, we've only seen very few of guests wear something.

The Terra Cotta Inn is a clothing optional resort. We've been visiting for over14 yrs and have seen, on occasion, females only topless but those same females went completely nude after a short time.

There is one guest that brings his wife and mother in law (?) each time and the women stay clothed and close to their room but the man is naked the entire time.

Nice part about TCI is that there are two rooms with private patio areas where someone that is not comfortable with nudity around others, can be nude in their private area and then join everyone else when they are ready. But there is no pressure from owners, staff or guests for anyone to be naked if they are not comfortable with it.

Loves being naked. Plays well with others!

We were recently in Romania and Bulgaria this summer and several of their water parks (water slides) allowed women topless. I've been looking through the net and I've seen photos taken at a waterfront water slide where most were nude. The park seemed small, several blue twisting slides along either a lake or sea. Does anyone know where this is located or does anyone have knowledge of any clothing optional water parks?
