I was just pondering...does anyone really "get someone" into nudity/nudism?

Sure; you can convince, encourage, support someone in being more comfortable with nudity. But at the end of the day, I think it really comes down to some "inner approval" of one's nudity and others'.

Take my wife, for example. Yes I encouraged her to be more comfortable with her nudity, to try a nudist resort; drove us there, made sure she was comfortable with the situation. She had the option of staying covered. After she started chatting with some nudists, she decided to try being nude as well. And then; it just "clicked" for her. With no intervention of my own, she decided she wanted to stay naked the rest of the day, enjoying the pool, hot-tub and tanning. I guess I can take credit for bringing her to the resort; but her embracing social nudity had little to do with me. It was some "inner approval" of hers, where she realized and embraced the fact that she actually really like being naked in that setting.

It's like the old "leading a horse to water" metaphor. You can encourage someone, but whether nudity "clicks" for them mostly has to do with their own inner monologue/process.

Growing old is mandatory, Growing up is optional. Laughing at yourself is therapeutic.

It's rare that I disagree with Nudony's thoughts, opinions and perspective on nudism. I agree completely with what he's stated here, just like the countless times before.

I introduced the Prof into nudism but didn't get here into it. I introduced her via my life as a nudist, she followed suit on her own. 45 years ago, it was as big a surprise to me as it was to her. Growing up in a very strict conservative, Catholic family, I never thought she'd adopt nudism as her lifestyle and I thought I'd be like countless nudist men that have to enjoy their naked time alone or only when the wife was away from home.

Social nudism was a different story but it was still the Prof's choice to partake or not. I provided the safe environments and opportunities but she ultimately decided if it was right for her or not.

This lifestyle has worked for us because I didn't try and get her into it but rather provided the opportunities, space and patience to allow her to make up her own mind about nudism. She's an open minded person and saw the good, very good in nudism and social nudism on her own.

Loves being naked. Plays well with others!

FireProf, yes, I like your input and the way you have managed to succeed where some of us have not!
Thanks for the insight!

Those of us with willing, participating partners in nudism and social nudism know how very lucky we are. We never or shouldn't ever, take it for granted.

No one influenced me. Life just felt a lot better without the old fabrics of the 70's in hot swampy Ohio.

Amen. I’m so glad that my girlfriend, a non nudist, joins me in going to the nude beach and other endeavors.
