I was thinking of going to San Onofre beach this week. But I saw on a website 'friends of san onofre beach' that there were arrests last year. Has anyone been out this year recently, and is it safe or are there still arrests being made? I would like to go with my girlfriend (first time for her :) ), but don't want to go if we are going to be arested.
I think you may have read into something on the Friends of San O Beach website or got some bad information.
There have been NO ARRESTS this year and I can't remember the last time anyone has been arrested, on the beach, for nudity. There have been citations/tickets written but of the twelve, 10 have been dismissed and charges dropped by the SD DA. The other two people pleaded out to lesser charges before the groups lawyer could get to them to ask them to fight the tickets.
We are headed down there on Sunday. Little League Tournament play is keeping us home this week. If you go and since it's your first time, go south of the chain link fence and you'll be fine. You'll see other nudes down that way.
Reluctantly...we go south of the fence line because my wife wants to go but doesn't want to risk a ticket... I personally would welcome the ticket and the chance to fight it but I understand her position while she's still working.
