I am new to the world of being nude in public. Where is there a place near Sacramento Calif that I can go ? I love being naked, and have not been to any resorts yet, but I really want to try some. Any suggestions ? What about the " do's and don'ts" ?

Laguna del Sol is very close to Sacto. Check out their website for "do's and don'ts".

From Sacramento, head east on State Route 16 from US 50 for a ways. You'll go past Grant Line Road, and then hit Dillard Road. Turn right on Dillard, and head down that road till you cross over a canal. Look to your right and you'll see the sign for Quince Lane. Take Quince Lane to its end, and you'll arrive at the gate to Laguna Del Sol. Park to the right of the gate and walk on in through a pedestrian gate to the office to register. It's $28 a day for non-members.
The place is huge, with 4 pools, a big lake, and other facilities.

If you prefer a lake, a couple hours east of you is Lake Tahoe; unbelievable beauty and a spectacular nude beach on the east (Nevada) side. It's called Secret Cove. It has it's own web site: http://www.secretcovenevada.com/

A hearty amen to that! what a great beach. Just rememeber what you easily take down to the beach, you also have to pack it up and take it with you on an appreciable climb uphill. I like to arrange it where possible to run out of water just before I leave (I like to minimize my pack weight), except for a bottle of it to drink up that steep trail back up.
I kid myself when I say that when I get to the top of the trail, I will be rewarded by the outhouse that marks the top of the trail. Phew! So, take your time going from the beach back up the hill, if you're not in good shape. You probably are, but I don't know you yet. I had a major heart attack a few years back, so I do take my time. The climb is about 300 feet or so, not that bad. It is well that way - can't be seen from the state highway.
The water is a bit cold, but you get used to it. I like to use an ordinary air mattress and float aimlessly about the cove. Hey, it's my vacation, I can be really aimless! Sometimes a motor boat, or yacht will get close to the cove to get a good gander. Cowards, they!!
One group of people who stayed aloof from the beach folks, just watched us all for some time. When I got back to the parking lot, they all pointed me out as if I were some kind of freak. I should have gone over to them and said,"Hi!" Just let 'em know that nudists are just average folks. Might have even won them over to the nudist side with my folksiness.
You tan there very fast, so protect your hide.
Overall, it's the most beautiful nudist spot bar none.
