Welcome aboard, to the Smiths!!!
Here is a link at this general website where there is some discussion about NC nudist places:
http://www.nudist-resorts.org/talk/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=409
Also, you could go to a search engine and type North Carolina+nudism Type that just like it looks, and the search engine will combine the two while it pulls up information for you. You might take some websites with a grain of salt, because you don't know who supplied information about any beaches. Here at nudist-resorts.org, you have a much more informed source of information, where you might find exactly the data for which you are looking. This works especially where people have actually been to a place near you, and can give you a first-hand report.
Browse through the many topics here; very educational. Every aspect of nudism can be found here. The owner of this site should come up with a comprehensive test, from which, if you have passed it successfully, could receive an N.D., or Doctorate of Nudism. hehehe
Dr. Warmskin? I like the sound of it.

There are no legal beaches in the Carolinas. Bird Island will have the occasional nude sunbather, but it's not legal. OBX rangers now patrol regularly.

It's tough to be a NC nudist. I actually ended up joining a club in SC, and I'll be driving 3.5 hours to get to an event, today. I've heard wonderful things about Whispering Pines, but it just changed management, so don't hold me to that just yet.

what about Ocracoke island? Plenty of sandy and few people. Would naturists have a lot of problems there?

Ocracoke is no longer viable for nudists. This past year, a number did get cited. (Good friend went to spread her husband's ashes. He was a life-long nudist and was unable to be nude.)

Several Clubs in NC go check out the AANR website for current status. Last I checked there were 3 or 4 nudist resorts there.

NC nudist parks recommended: Jasmine Trail in the New Bern area: lovely place; Whispering Pines just over the SC border in NC at the Shallotte/Ocean Isle Beach area: looking forward to visiting there over National Nude Weekend in July.
Nonlanded clubs: Triangle Area Naturists, North Carolina Naturists - I've friends in both clubs.
