Hi there,
Just for the record, the new owner of the Seminole Health Club and Resort is making MAJOR RENOVATIONS and so far it is looking great. We spent President's Day weekend there and had a wonderful time. The restaurant has been totally remodeled along with the motel and all the campsites. THE PLACE WAS CLEAN and THE STAFF WAS PLEASANT, unlike some of the other places we have visited in the area. The people there were wonderful and the room was very inexpensive. We were just minutes from Haulover Beach and the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood Florida which is a major party mogul with gambling, restaurants and dance clubs.
Also, another couple who stayed there said, "We were minutes from Trapeze and Miami Velvet." Amber (the manager) was very nice and helpful and we had a really great time. The majority of guests this time of year are from Canada but the dance was great with a LIVE DJ and the HOT TUB WORKED! A total BLAST! We hope this post is of help to other out-of-towners staying in the area deciding on a GREAT PLACE TO STAY!
Great times, convenient location and low cost--can't beat that.
Bare HUGZ,
Yvonne

nudecupple - do you work there? I can't seem to get much info about it. The club doesn't seem to have a working website. We live pretty close and wouldn't mind checking it out. We went to Sunnier Palms the other day and had a great visit. Is seminole similar to Sunnier Palms?

Hi all! I spent the day at Seminole yesterday (Saturday) and camped there last night. Just to give my input, here's my experience:
I arrived about 11am, it was about 75 degrees and hardly a cloud in the sky. I was beeped in and directed to the pool area, where I was enthusiastically met and given a short walking tour of the facilities, introduced around, and shown where I could set up my campsite. I spent the day reading at the pool, where the few (5-6) others lounged and read. Pretty quiet, but quite friendly. I was invited to a Beef Stew Supper ($7) and invited to sit under the tiki-hut and socialize. This I did, where I learned that there seems to be two separate social groups at the resort: the English speakers and the French Canadians. Well, not TOO separate, everyone was very nice, but each group seemed to more or less congregate together. Later on there was a DJ (I think, I didn't really participate, I just observed from the club house where I was watching a movie on my laptop) and line dancing. The hot tub could have been a little warmer, but it was still very clean and nice.
Overall, I liked the atmosphere here as much as that of Sunsport Gardens (my other favorite place), but some may be put off by the aesthetics of the facilities. While everything was VERY clean (the bathrooms and showers were super nice), a lot of the structures seem to be painted plywood type buildings. Also, there was quite a bit of clutter around many of the RVs/campers. But, like I said, it was CLEAN. I don't really remember much of my first trip there around '99 sometime (I was with my ex on her first trip to a nudist resort so I don't think we ventured far from our pool chairs) I very much enjoyed my stay there and will certainly be visiting again soon!
Thanks to the staff there for making me (a single male) feel so welcome! I would thank you by name, but I am TERRIBLE with names!!!
Cheers! Adam

Hey people,
My girlfriend and I live there and we like it. The new owner has his hands full with upgrades and the surprises that go with any renovation. The management is doing a great job at re defining and positioning new job descriptions to operate more efficiently. As a builder of large projects with over 35 years construction experience I can say these people have done a great job with the site in the beginning and recovering from Wilma. The improvements are at an impressive pace. The residents and seasonal people keep their lots clean and well groomed. You never have to ask for volunteers. It's a real community atmosphere. Everyone gets a background check, just because they want to do everything they can to ensure a safe, fun visit. There are all ages that visit. From small children to seniors. Single women can visit knowing that they will enjoy a more relaxing time than say, Haulover. The men here know that if a single woman wants to talk to you, she'll let you know.
We would like to have more year round residents that are doers and want to participate in making this the ideal place to live with like minded people. We are planning a large organic garden project for next growing season. Ummm.
Come on down a see for yourself.

An update on Seminole: The bar and restaurant are opening this weekend for Valentine's Day. The bar is loaded and yesterday I helped wheel in the daquiri machine. Daquiris by the pool, mmmm.
Amber let me take a hillside that was all grown over and turn it into a tier garden with two terraces that can be used by the people who park in the lots next to them. I planted veggies as part of the landscape so people can just go outside to get a fresh salad whenever they want. This is something we want to offer throughout the park for next season. I'll be going around the perimeter of the park and landscaping areas as I get the pond growing into a water garden with a local variety of plants. We are utilizing an international volunteer program this year to help with the landscaping so there will be some impressive changes in a very short time.
We are still looking for more full time residents that want to participate in the rejuvenation of the park and help create their ideal living space. The owners commitment to this rejuvenation is obvious and attracts a new mindset that will have us become a favorite destination. Get your space now.
