Hmmm... Corasol thanks for the burning advice, but I think I'd rather give the Nair a go. It seems less likely to go very very badly. Ouch! Imagine explaining that to the fire fighters after you've burnt down the house! :)

I keep it trimmed short and shave off the top (right now) to keep the top low for when I'm wearing speedo type swimshorts. Last night I tried roll-on nair, just around the edge of the upper area to remove the slight re-growth. It works great for me, but I would be very hesitant about getting it on the lower stuff.

Spont,
Just a slight burning. I used the ladies' 4 minute formula. It's $2 cheaper and I figure it is probably gentler.

Randy,
I might buy some tomorrow and give it ago.
I had a chat to one of my mates yesterday who mentioned that he trimmed his hair for the first time. He's girlfriend thought he was weird and didn't approve... GO figure!

Does nair keep the hair gone longer than regular shaving? I'm thinking of trying it on my legs.

I continue to be amazed at the preoccupation with this topic.
Hairstyle--whetner on one's scalp, face or elsewhere--is simply part of how we project ourselves to the world.
No matter what hair-do (or hair-don't) is selected, someone will think it odd simply because it is different.
As an emergency physician, I can attest to the observation that people manage their hair in as many different ways as there are people. It is a fact that a growing number of people are choosing to bare their axillae (armpits) and pubic areas. This is a fashion and, like all fashions will eventually swing out of favor and back again.

Hey, I just noticed that I jumped to 2 stars contributing member.... Ouff that's tought on this saturday morning... I'm sure I'll get over it...
Coming (combing) back to the topic, I don't think that hair under arm will ever come back as a style, and more I have the feeling that body hair is becoming a enemy..
Is it because of the style of clothes... narrow type bikinis? see trough under wear or clothes...?
It first started with ladies and we are following...
Life and needs changes.. Time will come and human being will have no hair...
peace

Melissa, It's supposed to last longer, because it causes the hair to fall out at the follicle. Definately smoother.
pilot, It does seem to be a hot topic. 17 pages. But then again we keep coming back, guess that's what keeps it hot. A lot of it seems to be asking for advice. Apparently, it's becoming in style.

Corasol,
You make several important points about the irreversibility of alopecia (hairlessness) as a fashion trend--skimpier textiles made of see-through fabrics as an example of a force that continues to drive behavior.
In the USA about 30 years ago, closely cropped or shaved heads on caucasian men was considered politically incorrect (with the exception of actors like Yul Brynner or Telly Savalas) because of a group of fascist youths who were called "skinheads". No one wanted a "fashion" so associated with hate. Today, shaved heads on caucasian men are common and accepted. I agree that head hair and body hair are different, but I do not think either is free of influence from advertising and the media.
I am impressed that visual media--such as movies, catalogs and fashion magazines--are populated today by "hairless humans" and we have followed suit. But that doesn't mean that a rebellion is an impossibility...

I'm now an expert on this topic and I'd like to share my thoughts. Today I looked around and said to myself, "Melissa (since that's my name, that's what I call myself), the natural look looks pretty good. Go with it." So that's what I'm going to do in regard to pubic hair. Having very little or no hair down there looks kind of strange on a woman, in my eyes. To each his/her own, but my own likes to go au natural.

18 pages definitely indicates that we have many thoughts and questions about this topic!
