Posted - 03/07/2009 : 09:49:51 AM You can watch for reports at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/McFaddinBeachTx/ Mother nature will recover. I have not been a big fan of being nude on Galveston beaches, so cannot report on their status.

Posted - 12/29/2005 : 08:37:53 AM Galveston nude beach. I was there with my wife a month ago. If you go north on seawall boulevard keep right (follow the beach) and less than a half mile past Stewart Beach Park is East Beach Drive. follow it to the end just past the lone older resort. continue going straight and drive through the gate. There is a beach parking lot at the end. the whole trip is about 2 miles from Stewart Beach Park. This area of beach is very secluded. Nudity is not legal there, but I got away with it for an hour or so before seeing another person close enough to be caught naked .. |

Hello all,
The Gulf Coast Nudist Yacht Club (GCNYC) also owns it's own domain - http://www.gcnyc.org
I've been to a few of their monthly Friday night dinners, and found them to be a nice, and friendly group.
As far as beaches go, Bolivar/McFaddin Nude Beach is 5 miles north of High Island, TX along State Highway 87 in Jefferson County. Hurricane Rita went through this area. Here's a quote from the Texas Nude Recreation web site [www.texnude.com] about the beach:
"A followup comment posted 2005/10/7 7:29 by kevin in Site News:
Hi, Kevin here again. Just went to Bolivar/McFaddin again to check out what Huriicane Rita did to the beach. Going through Winnie and High Island I saw a lot of damage but it looked like things were trying to get back to normal with clean up going on and lights back on. The beach is still there but in pretty grim shape. Lots of debris, dead cows and such on the beach. The biggest factor is all the shell that was thrown onto the beach. Although I was in a two wheel drive van I'm a fairly experienced offroad driver and I almost got stuck in this stuff. It's like driving in deep loose gravel and it's all over the beach. This stuff if it can be scraped back onto the beach would probably make a good base to rebuild dunes with but I'm sure the local authorities have more to worry about than rehabilitating the beach right now. The high water flooded in to the marshes behind the beach breeding huge swarms of mosquitos that will pounce on you if you stop. not a pleasant experience. ..."
