Would you(because you're accustomed to being nude in front of people)ever consider becoming a stripper? Those under 18 need not reply.BTW are there any Chippendales out there?

One of my girlfriends over the years was VERY anti-nakedness (Go figure).

While in college I was a photography major, actually sold some work professionally. Anyway, we got into this Huge arguement about when I did my artistic figure photography, that it was degrading to women, that it was pornography (even though she never saw, nor would let me show her, any of my work). She also argued that she KNEW all the time the the people were naked infront of me that I was walking around with an erection. She is the kind that thinks any nudity in art is just pornography. Alot of people out there like that. So I really don't know What 'Degrades Women'.

Does Stripping?

Well in my eyes it doesnt, meaning I see a stripper and I know her for a person. I have seen some of my friends on the stage and I see the talent they possess and the bravery they show by going up there. Yes I have been to stip clubs, male and female (because some of my friends are strippers, and some of them are male). I was actually suprised by the Male show beause the women there were MUCH MUCH more grabby, touchy, offensive, etc then the men at a female strip club.

I do know in other peoples eyes they see a stripper on a pole and it confirms thier thoughts of women being objects for thier desires, not as people. I am talking about guys (or even some women) who were raised with that mentality by thier friends, family, media, whatever.

Does that make stripping wrong? Does the fact that most strippers do not feel degraded make it right?

Does the fact that a whole lot of people see a naked woman, in art or in real life, and they say That degrades women, does that mean nudity is wrong? Does the fact that most of us on this forum, and a growing majority of americans, as well as most of the world, find it perfectly fine, does that make it right?

Well I won't make a call on the Stripper issue, because I think it is a personal thing. On the nudity and figure art I think we all know that call

And Cheri, I do agree with you 110% about Stipping having nothing to do with nudism. I really dont like the whole Ponderosa Pines Stripper Contest thing, makes it look like we endorse stripping, that thats what we think of nudism. Thats not what most of us think of it (I am sure there are some of 'Us' that do, unfortunatly). Nudism/Naturism/whatever is a family activity shared by the family, it is about being comfortable, in your body, in your mind, about a hell of alot of other things aswell. Stripping is Not a family activity, doesnt make you feel better about your body, probably doesnt help with your mind, etc.

Sorry for the long post, bored today

Though to some individuals stripping has it's flavor in the sun (actually in doors, in the modest of light, and in the most untasteful manner. Nudism on the other hand is a way of life that brings out the purest of beauty of one's self while not degrading it into something that perverts the very essence of a life style. Being new to this form of life style I want to be very comfortable as well as my family without being leered at! I wish to have all the perks that benefit such a life style without having to look over my shoulder and worry. Cheri is correct that stripping does degrade the individual(s) even if maybe the money is good. To me all stripping does for me is juice up the harmones and my wife can do that without any of that entertainment.

Gary, I too have been a photographic and figure drawing model. That is art and not degrading at all, just very hard work.

Hugs, Cheri

I would not be a stripper (even if my pysique allowed it), however I would pose nude for a photagraphy or lifedrawing class as I am an art lover.

As was stated above, it's degrading. That's not what nudism is about

Heheheh, I could be a Chunkydale :) (actually I saw something on a group of BIG (and I dont mean the tradition BIG when you think of Strippers) men stripping for women and getting paid well, maybe I should look into it )

Actually I have two views on the subject. I have the traditional 'Stripping degrades women and makes all women sex objects in the eyes of men' view. Then I have a few friends view (who Are or Have Been strippers (Lots of strippers on college, male and female)). To them (both male and female) it is a great job that they have fun at (Though there are the bad moments, just like in any job), make GREAT Money at (part time work, more then full time pay, ya I like that), and they feel empowered, not degraded.

But anyway, I dont think this was a pro/con stripping question, so ya if I had a body that wouldnt get me laughed out of the joint I would do it
