I have a medical condition that some would call a blessing but at times it feels more like a curse.

I get many erections through out the day for no real reason. I am not always sexually aroused and they often last for a long time.

I enjoy being nude. I don't do it often because of my condition. I have never been to a nudist area because I am worried that people will think I am a pervert when I really have no control over this problem.

Any thoughts?

Not being so afflicted, I can't say I know how you feel, but I can imagine that the situation would be uncomfortable. Some people seem to like to be judgemental and often don't consider others' situations.

I'd just say enjoy yourself and be as discreet as possible with a towel or something. As long as you are not being showy about it and you look like you're trying to be discreet, you should be OK. If some can't deal with it, that's their problem. Don't let it be yours.

So you are thinking people would be understanding? I don't think it would be an issue while in the water like a hot tub or a lake.

Would it be considered rude to go and ware shorts for a while to see how it goes or would that be an ok option?

I'm not sure if they would be understanding or not, but you have a better chance if you aren't parading it and if you try to hide or cover it.

At clothing optional beaches, you definately could wear shorts. There is no law saying you have to be nude at clothing optional beaches like Haulover. Then you could get comfortable first and use the shorts at your discretion. I'd also keep your towel handy as a wrap. You can drop it on shore and walk into the water if you need to till it passes.

I have never been to a nude beach or anything of the sort, but I really enjoy being nude and would like to go to a beach or resort one day. However, I wanted to know about the etiquette for erections. I have the same problem schworak is talking about and it has been really difficult to explain to my girlfriend that I am not arroused whenever I have an erection.

For example, I was watching the news about the most tragic things and I'm thinking of how terrible these trageties must have been, but my girlfriend notices that I have a bulge in my pants and thinks that I find the tragic news arousing. It's rather frustrating. I do not find tragic news arousing!

Anyway, what I want to know is if it is considered inapropriate to have an erection on a nude beach. Erections are a natural function of the penis and it seems to me, from what I've read, that nudists/naturist enjoy being nude because it feels very natural. So do I cover my erection and no longer be nude for propriety (wich defeats the purpose of going nude in the first place) or do I not do anything and wait until my erection goes away? Do women cover their breasts when their nipples go erect?

Yes you cover it or roll over, and no (well some do but not many) women don't cover their breasts if their nipples become erect.Remember breasts aren't sexual organs.Dave

Erect nipples cannot be compared with an erect penis. That's comparing apples and oranges. I know it's natural, but it can offend others. Since nudists generally don't want to offend others, how difficult is it to cover up if you're just sitting down on the beach or a lounge chair until the Erection goes away. As I've stated earlier in the thread, VERY early, in all my 57 yrs. of enjoying my lifestyle, I've witnessed only 2 at a nudist resort. That would mean that others who might have had them were considerate of others.

Your questions are answered in earlier messages, I believe.
Regards, Cheri

Thank you very much. Your responses are of great help. And because I know the proper etiquette now, I won't waste my time going to a nude beach because I know I will have an erection at some point and I don't want to worry about covering myself. I have clothes for that. Instead, I'll look for a private cabin that I can enjoy on my own. (By the way, in my culture, breasts ARE considered a sexual organ).

I once read that breasts are not sexual organs because it is possible to reproduce with or without their participation.

You are asking for help, with local traditions, and we are trying to help you, when in Rome do as the Romans(Cover it some how).Concerning breasts as sexual organs, some places in the world worship cows, but if it moos and poops,it still is a cow. Dave...

is your condition from a back injury involving nerves? in my younger years, i was a medic with an ambulance service. i had one such patient with the same problem! i believe the problem can be corrected by surgury. ask your family doctor. as for visiting nudist lodges - i think most would understand if you keep it covered.

This seems to be the most talked about question and it doesn't take a genius to figure out how to be discreet with an erection, should it occur. The argument over whether or not it's "offensive" to female nudists or not can't be definitively answered other than to say, "It CAN be."...therefore, cover it up or roll over.
Women aren't necessarily "threatened" by a man with an erection in a nudist setting, but they can be made to be uncomfortable by it if he appears to be trying to "show it off" in some semi-suggestive way.
The rule of etiquette for an erection around nudist women should be the same as when a man is in an elevator full of women in an office building with a cigar.... keep it out of sight and unlit.

Ha! I laughed so hard, my side hurt! I love the cigar comment! Really! Best comment I've read anywhere so far. Light-hearted, simple and true.

Hi There, Interesting topic. I have in past sported an erection at the beach and as I was very far away from my towel had to scramble back. This was very very embarrassing and had to pass a few guys and girls - They all seemed to try and not look however they were definitely looking and one a particular couple were openly laughing at me. I certainly did not intend to "show off" I am quiet small but was very very embarrassed. And have not been back.

I left the beach immediately afterword’s. My question is should I have apologised or just continued back to my towel and covered up? Should I have tried at least tried to cover my penis with my hand?

Your thoughts?

Your hand covering your parts would have been more obvious. Maybe next time, a towel over your shoulder would be a good thing.

I wish guys would not be so shy and ashamed and hiding their erections on nudist beaches. If I see an erect penis ,that is because of me, I feel rather flattered and I enjoy to look, from a proper distance of course.
